Omnipresence Divine

18 x 24, pastel.  Using multiple references is a huge mental challenge and this piece involved 4 different reference photos.  Overall, I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, but I never have paintings that I feel are ever totally "perfect."  Hope you all like it!

Chaps Flappin Tango

12 x 24 pastel.  I tend to get a little bored painting the same things....that's why I switch from western theme paintings to landscapes, maybe throw in a still  life or portrait or industrial scene every so often.  I also like to switch up the frame sizes and format.  Painting this piece in a long, vertical format was fun to do.

High Plains Pondering

14 x 18 pastel.  Having fun playing with color in this, as well as working on a textured surface.

World Needs More Cowboys - SOLD

14 x 18 pastel.  Just having fun, enjoying my art journey.  This time trying a looser, more dreamy, drippy, abstract type background.

Tired Out - (sold)

14 x 18 pastel.  A fun scene that I just had to paint.  The face did not photograph well.  Its kind of pasty looking here, it has more color in it in real life.

Waiting On A Heeler (sold)

14 x 18 inch, pastel on paper.  Playing around and trying some new things with this piece.  One of those things being "less is more", letting the viewer's imagination fill in the blanks and connect with the painting.

Three Amigos

12 x 24 inches, pastel on board.
Most certainly testing my patience painting the plaid and stripped shirts!  Overall, pretty pleased with what I was trying to convey with this piece.

Homeward - pastel

18 x 24 pastel on board.  Been what seems like forever since I posted a new painting.  Completed this last winter.  A combination of several reference photos; as I find myself in a mindset of having a painting idea or story I want to tell...then find the necessary references to aid me in telling that story or idea.  Challenging to use multiple references in one painting, but very satisfying when it works because there is never a "perfect", single photo that has everything just exactly right for these larger, more complex paintings.
