12 x 24 pastel. I tend to get a little bored painting the same things....that's why I switch from western theme paintings to landscapes, maybe throw in a still life or portrait or industrial scene every so often. I also like to switch up the frame sizes and format. Painting this piece in a long, vertical format was fun to do.

Lake Marie Thaw
18 x 24 inches, pastel. Believe it or not, this scene was from late June in the Snowy Range Mtns of southern Wyoming. It was fun painting the ice and rocks underwater. I kind of feel sorry for the fish that live here, having to spend so much of their lives living under ice.

High Country Reflections
I am way behind in keeping new work posted here. I will be adding a new painting about once a week for the next few weeks or longer. This one here is a pastel, 14 x 18 inches in size. I was trying to capture the smooth, glass-like look of the lake, while still having pleasing "brushwork"to add interest. Location is Telephone Lakes in Snowy Range Mtns. of southern Wyoming.
